本书以“轻声”为切入点，运用实验语音学的研究方法，聚焦于韵律与句法的互动，探讨韵律与句法的相互制约作用。首先，对轻声词的语音特征进行了全面的考察和分析，不仅考察了单念的轻声词，还考察了语流中包含轻声的韵律词。其次，从历时和共时两个层面对轻声的语音变化进行了考察。最后，选取“动补带宾句”这个特定的句法结构，通过考察其中双音节补语的语音特征、语体风格与句子合法性的关系，探讨了韵律与句法的相互制约作用。
This book uses "soft voice" as the starting point, using experimental phonetics research methods, focusing on the interaction between rhythm and syntax, and exploring the mutual restraint between rhythm and syntax. Firstly, a comprehensive investigation and analysis of the phonetic features of soft words is carried out, which not only examines the soft words of single thoughts, but also the rhythmic words containing soft voices in the stream. Secondly, we examined the soft voice changes from the diachronic and synchronic layers. Finally, the specific syntactic structure of "moving the complement of the guest sentence" is selected. By examining the relationship between the phonetic features of the two-syllable complement, the style of the language and the legitimacy of the sentence, the mutual restraining effect of the rhythm and the syntax is discussed.
